SURROUND THOSE YOU CARE ABOUT WITH ALL THE COMFORTS OF A HOME, TURN YOUR HOME INTO AN OASIS!!!

AIR PURIFICATION (HONEYWELL COMPONENTS)

Today there is a wide range of duct mounted electronic air cleaners. In a 1999 Honeywell study, duct mounted whole house air cleaners captured up to 95 % of mold particles presented in the air passing through the cleaner - that is nearly up to 20 times the effeciency of a standard furnace filter. They also provide respiratory relief by removing dust, dirt, pollen, animal dander and tar from cigarette smoke.

These units are also available in portable sizes. And odor removal can be accomplished by the use of charcoal activated filters.

HUMIDIFICATION (HONEYWELL COMPONENTS)

In the winter turning up your thermostat dries out your house. You may experience dry skin, hardwood floors separate at the seams. Woodwork and furniture shrink, warp and crack. Wall paper peels at the edges. Humidifiers add moisture to every room in your house. The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning (ASHRAE) recommends that the relative humidity in your home should be between 30-60 % to minimize the growth of bacterial and biological organisms. It will also help you stay comfortable at lower thermostat levels.

VENTILATION (LENNOX COMPONENTS)

Heat recovery ventilators (HRV's) and energy recovery ventilators bring fresh air into your house and exhaust the stail air out. HRV's conserve energy from indoor conditioned air, and transfer it to the outdoor air as it's brought in your home.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST

If you are presently using any fossil fuel heating or appliances or wood burning stoves or fire places... PLEASE protect your family and buy a Carbon Monoxide detector. There should be one installed on each level. Carbon Monoxide is a silent and deadly killer !!!!! Make sure you choose a high quality detector for more effective detection.

AIR CONDITIONING & HEATING (LENNOX COMPONENTS)

There is no house that we cannot air condition!

Houses with forced air heating:

CENTRAL A/C SYSTEM (LENNOX COMPONENTS)

  • High efficiency condensing unit placed outside the house, with a cooling coil installed in the furnace. Excellent way to cool a home equipped with a forced air heating system. Uses the heating system air ducts to cool the house.

HEAT PUMP

  • Installation same as central a/c system. A way to cool and HEAT the house inexpensively. A backup heating system is required, since a heat pump loses efficiency when the temperature drops below -12C. Although the cost of a heat pump is more expensive than central air you can benefit from using a dual energy system by THE LOWER ELECTRICITY RATES AVAILABLE FROM HYDRO QUEBEC FOR ONLY SUCH SYSTEMS.

Houses with electric or hot water heating (MITSUBISHI)

WALL MOUNTED AIR CONDITIONERS

  • Very quiet, take up little space and come in attractive designs.
  • Consists of a compressor system installed outside and 1-3 diffusers inside.
  • Diffusers will be installed on the upper wall to ensure uniform air distribution.
  • Ideal for cooling several rooms, one large room or open area.

ROOF MOUNTED

  • The unit is used when there is a flat roof and no attic space.
  • It is placed on the roof and diffusers are installed on the top floor.

ATTIC SYSTEM

  • Condensing unit is placed outdoors, with cooling coil installed in the attic.
  • The air ducts run through the roof space and through closets (if there is more than one floor to be cooled)
  • This requires a high degree of expertise for installation in order to avoid humidity problems.
  • All ductwork exposed in the attic should be with thermal insulation, and all other ductwork should be lined with accoustic insulation in order to avoid noise.
